HT Image The vehicles of different types were handed over by Indian ambassador Ranjit Rae to Nepal s home minister Madhav Prasad Ghimire at a function held at Singha Durbar, the seat of Nepal government. In his statement, Rae reiterated India s support for successful conduct of free and fair elections. Another 48 stanley cup vehicles will be donated to the election commission at a separate function held on Thursday. Nepal, which goes to polls on November 19, had earlier sought 1,000 vehicles from the southern neighbour in order to hold the country s second constituent assembly election effectively. India agreed to provide 716 vehicles to security agencies and another 48 to the election commission at a cost of R50 crore during External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid s Kathmandu visit in July. India had provided 500 vehicles to Nepal during the previous constituent assembly polls in 2008. The country will elect a new constituent assembly as the earlier one failed to draft a constitution. Despite opposition to the polls by a prominent Maoist party and several other smaller players, India, China and the international community have backed the election as a must to end political instability in Nepal. The investigation was launched after an unexpected birth in an aquarium at the Henry Doorly Zoo in Nebraska in December 2001. The research was carried out by scien jordan tists from Queen s University Belfast, the Guy Harvey Research Institute at Nova Southeastern University in Florida and the Henry Doorly Zoo. The head of the Queen s research team and the study s co-author, Paulo Prodohl, from the School of Biological Sciences, described the findings as really surprising. As far as anyone knew, all sharks reproduced only sexually by a male and female mating, requiring the embryo to get DNA from both parents for full development, just like in mammals.
